How often do you review your cleaning schedule in your business? Do you currently employ a cleaner? Or do you have a rota for staff to share the responsibility in house?
Some business owners would question the need to use a cleaning company in their business. However, the pros far outweigh the cons and here’s a few examples of common complaints and why it may be time to use a cleaning company in your business:
“There's never any soap or toilet roll”
Rookie mistake! If you leave the responsibility of keeping items stocked up with a particular person there's always the risk this will be forgotten or the person may be off for a number of reasons without leaving any supplies stocked up. This inevitably means that someone else will have to go and get the items, likely on your time when you would much rather them be doing something much more productive! Using a cleaning company eliminates this risk as all supplies are maintained by the cleaning company.
“Our Cleaner calls in sick all the time”
Being left without a cleaner at short notice is highly inconvenient and it can be difficult finding cover. Using a cleaning company takes this stress away from the business owner and back into the hands of a cleaning company who will have ample staff to cover any short falls. The majority of cleaning companies will also have training in place for their staff to ensure consistency for customers so even if you don’t have your “usual” cleaner you can still expect the “usual” standard.
“I don’t have the time to fully train our cleaner”
A painfully common scenario for business owners. Whilst most business owners appreciate the need for a cleaner its often the case that the cleaner comes in after hours and as the business owner it's not a number one priority to wait around for them and show them exactly what you need done often relying on relaying information to them and leaving them to get on with it. Many will take this and “run with it” however this does leave a large margin for error or misinterpretation. A cleaning company will have fully trained staff with cleaning supervisors to oversee work and liaise with the business owner to ensure complete satisfaction. This also gives the business owner a point of contact to raise issues should any arise.
“We use a cleaning company but they always miss something...”
Unfortunately, we hear this far too often which is why it's important to consider which cleaning company you will be using very carefully and ensuring you do feel that you can trust them to deliver. We find our detailed cleaning schedule is the best tool for our cleaners to be used every time we visit your premises. Our supervisors also carry out regular inspections to ensure a consistent high standard is maintained. This includes dusting under and behind fixtures and furniture and not just around them!
Taking the time to consider carefully a cleaning company to take over your business cleaning needs is a worthwhile investment as a business owner. Doing something right the first time will eliminate the need to do it again repeatedly so you won't need to ask why you need to use a cleaning company in your business but instead why not!
